LOWELL, Mass. – Senior Roddy Hernandez (Jersey City, N.J.) has been named the River Hawk of the Week following an impressive weekend at Oral Roberts.
Hernandez made three starts and slashed a team-leading .545/.818/.583 in the River Hawks’ 2-1 series win over the Golden Eagles. The senior led the offense with six hits, six RBIs and nine total bases in 11 at bats. Hernandez added four runs and one home run, a two-run shot to give UMass Lowell a late lead in game two.
He also led the team with 12 assists on defense and added three putouts with no errors, giving him a 1.000 fielding percentage over three games. This is the first River Hawk of the Week honor for Hernandez.
