LOWELL, Mass. – Following a 5-0 start to the 2016 season, marking the program's longest winning streak in the Division I era, the UMass Lowell men's soccer team is ranked No. 28 in the College Soccer News National Poll. This is the first appearance for the program in national rankings since the transition to Division I.

"Anytime you're breaking into a poll, it's a sign of good things happening," remarked Head Coach
Christian Figueroa. "It's a nice thing to see, but we also understand that mid-season polls can be more of a distraction than anything else. We need to stay focused and work on improving every day."

UMass Lowell returns to the national polls for the first time since 2012, when the program peaked at No. 5 in the NSCAA Division II Poll.

The River Hawks are the only remaining unbeaten America East team, and have only trailed for one minute and 47 seconds this season and have not trailed for 443 minutes since
Ben Waithe's (Plymouth, Mass.) game-tying goal at Northeastern. The squad looks to continue its winning ways with a home tilt against Bryant on September 14 at 7 p.m.
