Celebration of Champions to Honor Hockey Team

River Hawks to be Honored on Tuesday, April 23 at 3:00PM

The River Hawks took home the Lamoriello Trophy for the first time in program history on March 23.

UMass Lowell will be hosting a Celebration of Champions event on Tuesday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. to honor the River Hawk hockey team for their incredible run to the Frozen Four.

All are invited to join Chancellor Meehan in the Tsongas Center lobby to congratulate the hockey team on their amazing season. UMass Lowell captured the Hockey East regular season and tournament titles before winning the NCAA Northeast Regional and advancing to the Frozen Four in Pittsburgh, the program's first ever appearance. In addition, Coach Norm Bazin was named the Spencer Penrose Division I and Hockey East Coach of the Year.

The team would also like to thank you – the fans – and will be available for autographs and photos with the Hockey East regular season and Lamoriello trophies.  They will also join you on the ice for the free skate which begins at 4:00 p.m. (There will be a limited amount of skates available for use. Guests are encouraged to bring their own.)

Refreshments will be served in the LowellBank Pavilion. Hockey East Championship gear and River Hawk merchandise will be available on the concourse.

Students can swipe their IDs and earn Mission: All In points at the event as well. Starting at 2:15PM, the Red Line and the Yellow North Line will swing through the Tsongas Center on the way to East Campus and North Campus/ICC, respectively. This will continue until 6:00PM.
