UMass Lowell and the Lowell Humane Society (LHS) are teaming up for the second annual Pucks and Paws Night at the Tsongas Center on Saturday, February 16. Face-off is set for 7 p.m. against the Massachusetts Minutemen. Fans are encouraged to bring their own dogs to enjoy the game with them and the Lowell Humane Society will have adoptable pets at the arena.
"We've been looking forward to this event after last year's success," said
Scott Donnelly, Athletic Marketing Coordinator. "Based on fan feedback, we're not the only ones excited about it."
There will be a designated section for fans that bring their non-aggressive dogs as well as a special "Doggie Door" entrance via the West Box Office. Fans can purchase seats in Section 110 for $15 and tickets for their dogs are just $5. All of the proceeds from "dog ticket" sales will be donated to the Lowell Humane Society.
Fans are required to purchase their "dog tickets" in advance of the game by calling 978-934-5751.
UMass Lowell asks that all fans have current tags and vaccinations for all dogs entering the building and all dogs must be on a non-retractable leash. Proof of up-to-date vaccinations must be provided upon purchase.
River Hawk season ticket holders can exchange their usual seats for tickets in Section 110 at no charge with the purchase of a $5 dog ticket.
Hydration stations and "waste management" will be provided by LHS on the concourse as needed.
UMass Lowell is currently ranked 12/13th in the nation with a 14-7-2 record (8-6-2 Hockey East). Coach
Norm Bazin's squad is unbeaten in its last eleven games (10-0-1).
Tickets are available now through the Tsongas Center Box Office, www.TsongasCenter.com or by calling 866-722-8780.
