UMass Lowell baseball is set to honor its fallen teammate
Adam Keenan this Saturday, prior to the 3 p.m. game against Franklin Pierce.
Keenan tragically passed this summer after completing his sophomore season with the River Hawks due to Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC). He was just 20 years old.
His connection extends to both programs as Keenan suited up for the Ravens as a freshman as well.
At approxiamatly 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Keenan's family will join the teams on the field for a special ceremony. They will be presented with jerseys from each team and the Seacoast Mavericks, Keenan's summer league club at the time of his passing, will present the Keenan's with the American flag that flew at half mast during their season.
The teams will also introduce the inaugural Keenan Cup Trophy, which will be presented annually to the winner of the season series between UMass Lowell and Franklin Pierce.
Lastly, on Saturday the team will announce the winner of the signed Stanley Cup Championship Boston Bruins jersey, complete with certificate of authenticity, that was raffled off to help fund a scholarship in
Adam Keenan's name.
