UMass Lowell Athletics

AS A SOPHOMORE (2018): Burkett played in 22 matches and 68 sets with a total of 9 digs, 74 kills, and 54 blocks throughout her 2018 season. Her season-high of 7 kills in a single match took place on Oct. 14 vs. Albany. She ranks second in blocks with 54. She tallied 5+ blocks on four occasions and notched a season-high of 10 blocks vs. UMBC.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017): Burkett totaled 78 kills, 40 total blocks and 27 digs in 23 matches and 68 sets. Her 40 blocks were second most on the River Hawks' roster and her 78 kills ranked first among freshmen. Totaled 10+ kills twice, including a career-high 11 kills against New Hampshire on September 22nd. Recorded 3+ blocks in five contests and tallied a career-high five blocks on October 28th vs. Binghamton. 

BEFORE UMASS LOWELL: Was a three-sport athlete at El Capitan (volleyball, basketball, softball). Was captain in her senior season and was a First-Team All-League player in her junior and senior years, led team with .410 hitting percentage and 78 total blocks in her final season. Set single-season team record with 94 total blocks in her junior campaign. Led the team with 69 total blocks in her sophomore season. Was named to the San Diego Union Tribune All-Academic Team in 2015 and 2016. Played COAST club volleyball for Peter Johnson. 

PERSONAL: Daughter of Natalie and Matt Burkett. Has a sister named Faith. Burkett enjoys drawing and photography in her free time. Her favorite TV shows include Glee, Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy, New Girl and The Carrie Diaries. Her favorite professional sports teams are the San Diego Padres. Burkett's favorite sports influences include Tony Gwynn, Matt Anderson and Karsta Lowe.
