(1978) - After graduation from Keith Academy of Lowell, Bill Quirk entered Lowell State College (1966-70) and preceded to become the only 2000-point scorer in the city of Lowell's collegiate hoop history. He finished with an unbelievable career total of 2,032 points and a career average of 23.4 points per game.

Quirk holds a host of other LSC basketball records including: most points in a game (44), most points in a season (660), and most career field goals (819). He is also tied for the most games played (87) and for the most field goals tallied in a game (18). Quirk was the leading scorer on the 1968-69 team which enjoyed the greatest season in LSC's hoop history with a 16-6 record.

In his senior year, the LSC captain was selected to play in the Hall of Fame game and was named to the NCAA New England College Division All-Star team. His senior year's scoring average of 27.5 found him 19th nationally and his 660 points ranked him number two in the state college conference.
