(2003) - One of the best sprinters in UML history, Govostes was a four-time All-American in both the 400 meter hurdles and 400 meter dash, twice during the indoor season and once in the spring. He was also a seven-time New England champion - which includes athletes from NCAA Division I, II and III schools - and earned All-New England honors eleven times.
Govostes graduated in 1998 having shattered five school records. Three of those records still stand, including the outdoor 400 meter hurdles, 4X400 meter relay and the indoor 500 meters. He still owns the top 20 fastest times in the 400 meter hurdles ever recorded. Govostes was also a standout in the 200 meter dash and continues to hold two of the top 10 times ever recorded at UML.
Govostes is currently a Business Client Manager for Bank of America. He is married to former UMass Lowell Track & Field Alumna Jennifer Pratt Govostes and resides in Braintree, MA.
