(1982) - Leon A. Uzdavinis, a center in basketball, was a standout player for Lowell Technological Institute (1960-64). Among his achievements at LTI was being named to play in the New England College All-Star game in 1964. He is the second leading scorer in LIT's hoop history having totaled 1672 points in four letter-winning seasons. Uzdavinis averaged 23.50 points per game and was the leading scorer among small college players in New England in 1961-62.
After graduation for LIT, Uzdavinis was the recipient of the distinguished Flying Cross and six air medals in the Air Force while flying as a navigator in C-130's in Vietnam. Uzdavinis reached the rank of captain during his stint in the Air Force (1965-70).
