(1982) - Gary Hunt was an outstanding basketball player for Lowell State College (1965-69). Although he ranks as the 14th best career scorer (687 points) in LSC hoop history, Hunt's contributions were really noted for his playmaking ability and leadership from his guard position.

In his sophomore year, he was named the MVP in the Lowell Christmas Tourney while in his senior year, he ranked second in the New England State College Conference in free throw percentage. Hunt also won varsity letters in baseball (shortstop-pitcher) and golf during his four years at LSC.

After graduation, Hunt was still active in the game of basketball. He was the head basketball coach at Bedford High School and played basketball for 10 years in the Lowell Town League. Hunt has also done some coaching in the Dracut (MA) school system.
