(1977) - Twice named the MVP of his team, Gary Bishop, the flashy forward, led LTI in scoring in three of his four seasons. In his senior year, the former LTI captain was the second leading collegiate scorer in the East with 61 points (35 goals and 36 assists). Bishop left behind a host of school records which include: Most points - One Game (8). Most Career Points (158), Most Goals - Season (tied at 25), Most Assists - One Game (tied at 7), and Most Career Assists (81).

After graduating from LTI in 1971 with a BS in Business Management, Bishop coached varsity hockey and junior varsity lacrosse at Lehigh University until he received his M.Ed. from Lehigh in 1973.

Bishop became one of the most successful high school hockey coaches in Massachusetts by developing a program at Austin Prep High School (Reading, MA) which ranked with the best in Division II play. Austin Prep, under Bishop's hand qualified for State Tournament play. While guiding his club to tournament finals in 1975, Bishop was named "Coach of the Year" in Eastern Mass. Division II schoolboy hockey in 1974-75. He was also the junior varsity lacrosse coach at Billerica Memorial High School.
