The numbers explain the impact that Darlene Orlando-Ciarcia had on the women's basketball program: She is the all-time leading scorer with 2,116 career points, field goals made (874), field goal percentage (.521) and ranks second in rebounds (1,058) and blocks (299).
Orlando-Ciarcia also owns school marks for points (705) and rebounds (323) in a season, and vaunts three of the top four scoring games in school history, including a school-record 48-point outburst against New Haven on Feb. 7, 1994.
A two-time All-American, Orlando Ciarcia was also a four-time New England Collegiate Conference allstar, including the Player of the Year 1993 and Co-Player in 1994, and an Academic All-American in 1994.
She continued to gather honors after graduation, earning inclusion on the NECC 15th Anniversary Team as well as UMass Lowell's top 10 players in history during its celebration of women's athletics in 2001-02.
