LOWELL, MA (Oct. 10, 2007) –Hadder Jillian , a freshman from Yucaipa, CA (Yucaipa H.S.), was named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week as she led the UMass Lowell volleyball team to a 2-1 showing last week.

The honor was the second this season for Hadder, who was also named the NE-10 Freshman of the Week on Sept. 4.

Hadder posted averages of 2.91 kills and 3.91 digs as UML suffered a 0-3 loss at Franklin Pierce last Tuesday, but bounced back for crucial wins over Saint Rose (3-1) and Le Moyne (3-1) over the weekend.

She highlighted the week with 11 kills, 15 digs and four aces in the win over Saint Rose Friday; and 15 kills and 15 digs while hitting .407 in the victory over Le Moyne Saturday.

Hadder currently leads the River Hawks in hitting with 3.09 kills per game, and serving with 32 aces this season. She has also chipped in 2.76 digs as well as 0.43 blocks per game.

UML enters the East Stroudsburg Tournament Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the River Hawks meet Georgian Court at 8:00; and face Augusta State Saturday at 10:00 and Kutztown at 2:00.
